Well, it's pretty much official: Come hell or high water (or bombs from Lebanon) I'm going to Israel. I got accepted (whew!), then said I wasn't going to go unless I got funding. So I took out another loan. Not exactly what I wanted to happen but I think the opportunity is worth it. October 30th will find me chillin (or having a complete nervous breakdown) in Jerusalem! It's still pretty surreal but I'm excited. I've been taking Hebrew classes for the past couple months so hopefully I'll be able to pass my entrance exam. I have to have the equivalent of a year of modern Hebrew and a year of ancient. Ack. I'm pretty nervous about jumping back into the school scene after being out for 2 years... but hey, I did it for 15 years of my life. It can't be that hard to remember how! Just stay up all night and be nice to the professors, right? And make friends with people who take good notes. :)

Yes, I know there is a war that direction. I'm pretty sure I heard a reliable rumor about that. I also have it on pretty good authority (from someone who lives there) that Jerusalem is physically untouched. The fighting is much farther north. In fact, people are coming to Jerusalem to relax and get away. Plus, Israel's wars tend to be on the shorter side so I am going to cross my fingers and pray that the war will be over in the next two months.

It is nice to finally have something in the works. I am so tired of living in this state of limbo. I keep thinking, "I'll go back to school in the fall." "I'll go back to school in the Spring." etc. I've been driving a P.O.S. car for the last couple years because I keep thinking it only has to get me through a couple more months. Now I've been driving it around without a cooling fan for the last month (the hottest one on record in CO). But my car is another story. :) Now it is time to get back to work.
