I'm leaving on a jet plane! Don't know when I'll be back again.

Guess what I did! I bought myself a ticket to ... drumroll... Podunk, Nebraska!! Booyah! Neener neener. (Just kidding... actually it is NEW YORK!!!!) Joanna and I finally decided to head there. We knew we wanted to - and had every plan of actually moving over there some time in September. However, we started thinking... we should probably look for jobs beforehand, we should meet up with our friends there and try to find a house to rent, and we should figure out where the closest clubs are going to be. Oh, and of course, take a break from this messed up workplace. So Joanna comes over Sunday night. We spend approximately a decade looking up plane tickets, comparing one rate with another, trying to resurface from the onslaught of popups. Finally, we find THE ONE. The perfect ticket! Not too expensive (more than the 5 dollars we had budgeted though). Eventually, we hit "complete purchase" -  the infamous button. After giggling and cartwheeling for a bit, my sister came in to find out what the whooplah was about. In my pride I showed her the itenerary. Leave DIA, arrive in LGA in time for dinner, party for a... What the...? LGA? That's supposed to be JFK. D'oh. After an inappropriate expletive (in front of my little sister... oops), we were able to establish the fact that yes, we were flying into LGA - the airport that happens to be on the complete opposite side of New York. Check: ticket nonrefundable. Check: cancellation fee of $100. GRRRRR. After majorly freaking out for a few minutes, we called a 1 800 number. It is nearly 1am in the morning... please let someone be there! After labyrinths of voice messaging systems we finally reached a real live person. This person gladly credited by card for the full amount of the tickets and only charged me a seven dollar service fee!!! Whew! So then we again went back to searching for the perfect ticket. This time the perfect ticket that would actually get us to the correct destination. So, we now have tickets to New York!
Imagine what's going to happen when the two of us try to tackle the actually city! WATCH OUT NEW YORK!

I keep thinking that I should post again. Then I look at my last post and it is just so right. That is the thought that goes through my head for most of the day. "Make it a double." It works for all situations. Day sucks, make it a double so I can finally relax and quit thinking. Having a great time, make it a double and keeps the good times rolling - until I pass out. Maybe I should learn to just settle for the single. Take things in a good moderate amount. That way I will never be so completely smashed that I'll do something stupid. But is moderation really all that great? The old adage states, "Everything in moderation." I have heard that quoted so much in nearly all situations. But what about those of us that more than just "moderation"? I think that instead of just a moderate amount, I want everything. Everything. Yeah, that would do it...
