Why?

I know on scientific, spiritual, ecomonic even! levels why death happens... but why? I hate it.

Moving on...

I bought my ticket to Israel. The most money I have spent in one place I think. (Obviously not counting school and such which technically I still haven't completely bought.) It was more than my computer, more than my car...

Wow... It's happening. Really happening.

Since I am a member of the mass mob we call society and I, as any good minion should, feel the need to fit in and be a part of this mass: I'm gonna post pictures of "kids I take care of" just like Lesbo!

I volunteer in my church's nursery every other Saturday night. Due to the fact this church rides the border between simply huge and obese, the nurseries are divided into six month increments. I am assigned to the children that are from 3.5 years to 4 years. This is a pretty fun age I think. Kids develop so fast that it is always interesting to see the 3 1/2 years old compared to the 4 years old. This weekend I only had 2 girls. I guess everyone had somewhere else to be besides church. It was nice though because 2 kids is WAY easier to watch than the normal 6-8. We went outside (where I nearly lost them! I stopped to say hi to my brother who was mackin' on this girl in the hallway and when I look around... the girls were gone. I told my brother and his hit that I'd better jet. I caught up to the girls half way across the lawn! That's a pretty far distance - those legs were too short to get them there that fast!) and played on the swings and other climbing stuff that would probably be illegal at a public school. Everyone managed to stay alive.
Krystyna ("two 'y's and a 'k'") is notorious. She is only just turned 3 1/2 but everyone in the nursery knows her. She's tiny, cute, spaced-out, takes whatever she wants, then wonders why the other kids aren't as happy about it as she is. When you tell her to give back whatever she's taken (like Courtney's flip flops), she gives them back as if she's being so sweet and helping out this poor girl who's crying because some jerk stole her flip flops. She's gonna be one to watch - girls from a long ways away and boys with full protective gear.

I taught her to "Rock on." (She's already got the stoned look down.)

That was the highlight of my weekend. Other things that happened:

  • My brother moved out. That's two down, two to go. My mom is already considering buying four dogs to make up for her four children. Not sure how I feel about the thought that a dog could replace me. I'll have to find out what kind of dog.
  • I went to Six Flags with Nick, Jess, Jonathan, Nate, and Nasser. We had a ton of fun. Definitely not as young as we used to be! We were more excited about hitting up Panda Express on the way down then getting to ride the Minderaser. We all agreed that Sidewinder was much cooler than it looked. And that Twister II is proof that someone must die before a rollercoaster gets taken out of commission.
  • I got sick.
