Here's a blog that I thought I'd posted earlier but apparently it never made it:

Isn't life interesting? It's so crazy how little life seems to change until you look back and see where you came from. At my last post:

  • I was working at Mimis. No longer there - I quit about 3 weeks ago. (Now it's been about 1.5 months.) I am now an admin (not a secretary <-- evil word) at a local real estate office. More hours, less work, more consistent pay, less weird people. (Every job has it's pros and cons.)
  • I was single and loving it. I am again single and mostly okay with it. I did manage to have 2 boyfriends and a few non-committal make-out sessions in the meantime. (I have come to the conclusion that I am not really the kind of person who can date someone to get to know them - I have to know them first otherwise I won't invest.)
  • I am drinking more (kinda what happens when you date a bartender). Well, drinking more consistently, getting drunk way less (said bartender also keeps tabs on how much you drink). Due to which:
  • I am now charged with a misdemeanor... public display/consumption of alcohol in public (throw in an illegal immigrant and upset parents for a fabulous evening of absolutely no sleep). Court date is Wednesday. Been to court: $25 fine plus $25 court fees. Expensive bottle of beer. But thankfully that was it.
There has been a few really good things... I have officially been accepted to the Hebrew University. Yet, I got accepted very late in the large scheme of things and am having a very difficult time finding a way to fund this crazy adventure I'm trying to go on. I've missed the deadlines. Plus now that Israel decides that war sounds like a fun game, there are many people trying to dissuade me from this course. I have decided to tell those "people" to just shuddup. I am also simply taking out a loan to pay for it all. Woohoo! Bring on the culture shock!

That about sums it up.

I have half an hour before I can leave work. I need something to entertain me. So look what I made!

<-- Cool huh? I did it myself (borrowed the dollar though - I win). Yay for Stumble. C4 - you rock.

I'm going hiking this weekend. A fourteener. (For you non-coloradoans, that means the mountain is over 14,000 ft.) The group is doing 2 but I think I'm gonna be doing good to get one done. It should be fun at least - there are about 10 girls between the ages of 17-23. Bring on the giggling! I'll post pictures.

I ran today. I now hurt. That is my story.

Heather says Hi. She's working with us today! She's the youngest daughter of the Office Manager. I am now trying to corrupt her. We're comparing friends on myspace. Her's look a little more sane than mine. Not fair. (Mine prolly have more fun though.)

These are the shoes I'm wearing today. Fun huh? Heather took the picture. Gotta love cell phones!

Well, it's pretty much official: Come hell or high water (or bombs from Lebanon) I'm going to Israel. I got accepted (whew!), then said I wasn't going to go unless I got funding. So I took out another loan. Not exactly what I wanted to happen but I think the opportunity is worth it. October 30th will find me chillin (or having a complete nervous breakdown) in Jerusalem! It's still pretty surreal but I'm excited. I've been taking Hebrew classes for the past couple months so hopefully I'll be able to pass my entrance exam. I have to have the equivalent of a year of modern Hebrew and a year of ancient. Ack. I'm pretty nervous about jumping back into the school scene after being out for 2 years... but hey, I did it for 15 years of my life. It can't be that hard to remember how! Just stay up all night and be nice to the professors, right? And make friends with people who take good notes. :)

Yes, I know there is a war that direction. I'm pretty sure I heard a reliable rumor about that. I also have it on pretty good authority (from someone who lives there) that Jerusalem is physically untouched. The fighting is much farther north. In fact, people are coming to Jerusalem to relax and get away. Plus, Israel's wars tend to be on the shorter side so I am going to cross my fingers and pray that the war will be over in the next two months.

It is nice to finally have something in the works. I am so tired of living in this state of limbo. I keep thinking, "I'll go back to school in the fall." "I'll go back to school in the Spring." etc. I've been driving a P.O.S. car for the last couple years because I keep thinking it only has to get me through a couple more months. Now I've been driving it around without a cooling fan for the last month (the hottest one on record in CO). But my car is another story. :) Now it is time to get back to work.
